Prior to OceanSound, Mr. Benavides was a Partner at Veritas Capital where he primarily focused on investments in industrial, government, enterprise, and communications technology companies. Mr. Benavides formerly served on the boards of directors of Abaco Systems, Inc., Aeroflex Holding Corp., Anaren, Inc., Aptim Corp., KeyPoint Government Solutions, Inc., OnSolve, LLC and Vencore, Inc. (formerly known as The SI Organization, Inc.). Prior to joining Veritas in 2007, Mr. Benavides was a Managing Director at The Blackstone Group. Prior to The Blackstone Group, Mr. Benavides was at Credit Suisse First Boston and Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette. Mr. Benavides received a B.S. in Economics with a concentration in Finance, cum laude, from the Georgia Institute of Technology and an M.B.A. in Finance from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Benavides holds a Top Secret Clearance, has been on the board of the Cuba Study Group and is fluent in Spanish.
Prior to OceanSound, Mr. Coons was a General Partner at TCV. While at TCV, Mr. Coons invested in communications infrastructure and enterprise technology companies. Mr. Coons formerly served on the boards of directors of Cradlepoint, Inc., Datto, Inc., ExtraHop Networks, Inc., and Fuze, Inc. Prior to joining TCV in 2011, Mr. Coons was a Managing Director at The Blackstone Group where he sourced, evaluated, and executed investments across the technology sector. Before joining The Blackstone Group, Mr. Coons was a Vice President in the Credit Suisse First Boston Technology Group. Mr. Coons graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania’s Jerome Fisher Program in Management and Technology where he received a B.S. in Engineering with a major in Bioengineering from the School of Engineering and Applied Science and a B.S. in Economics with a concentration in Finance from The Wharton School. He serves on the Board of Overseers of the Institute of Contemporary Art at the University of Pennsylvania.
Prior to OceanSound, Mr. Kelly was a Principal at H.I.G. Capital where he focused on investing in middle market companies operating in the aerospace and government technology market. Prior to joining H.I.G. Capital in 2016, Mr. Kelly was a Principal at Veritas Capital where he spent eight years investing in aerospace, defense and government technology companies. Mr. Kelly served on the boards of directors of CPI International, Inc., Excelitas Technologies Holding Corp, NCI Inc., SolAero Technologies Corp., and Truven Health Analytics Inc. Prior to joining Veritas Capital in 2008, Mr. Kelly was a Vice President in the Leveraged Finance Group of Goldman Sachs. Mr. Kelly began his career at Morgan Stanley. Mr. Kelly received a B.S. in Finance from Washington University in St. Louis and an M.B.A. from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
Prior to OceanSound, Mr. Stein was a Vice President at CI Capital where he focused on middle-market investments across a variety of industries, including business services, healthcare and industrial services. While at CI Capital, Mr. Stein served on the boards of directors of Hero Digital, LLC, Epiphany Dermatology, PA and Redwood Logistics, LLC. Prior to joining CI Capital in 2015, Mr. Stein was an associate at Veritas Capital. Mr. Stein began his professional career as an investment banking analyst at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in the Financial Institutions Group. Mr. Stein graduated cum laude with a B.S. in Economics with a concentration in Finance from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He serves on the Junior Board of the Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation.
Mr. Milner has spent his professional career focused on industrial technology and technology-enabled services. Previously, he was the Chief Executive Officer and served on the board of directors of Telular Corporation, a market leader in the rapidly growing internet of things (“IoT”) market. Mr. Milner drove Telular’s growth and business development strategy, leading up to the sale of Telular to AMETEK, Inc. (NYSE: AME) in 2018. Mr. Milner’s expertise spans highly diverse industries, including industrial IoT, semiconductors, power electronics, and industrial services. Mr. Milner previously held senior executive positions with Active Power Corp., Aquilex Corp. and Xerium Technologies, Inc., and also led the formation and growth of Invensys Energy Systems and Power Systems, known as Powerware, previously a division of Invensys Ltd. and now a division Eaton Corporation plc. (NYSE: ETN), a market leader in engineered infrastructure solutions for the global wireless network market. Mr. Milner holds a B.A. in Physics from Ohio Wesleyan University, an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Duke University and an M.B.A. from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.
Richard Nottenburg, Ph.D.
Dr. Nottenburg has spent his professional career focused on communications technology and infrastructure. He is currently Chairman of Q-Sensei Corp., a Big Data search and analytics company. He is also on the boards of directors of Verint Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: VRNT), a global leader in Actionable Intelligence® solutions with a focus on customer engagement optimization, security intelligence, and fraud, risk and compliance and Sequans Communications SA. (NYSE: SQNS), a leading provider of 4G LTE semiconductor solutions for the Internet of Things and a wide range of broadband data devices. Previously, Dr. Nottenburg was President and Chief Executive Officer of Sonus Networks (now doing business as Ribbon Communications, Inc.) and held various senior executive roles at Motorola, Inc., including Senior Vice President, Executive Vice President, Chief Strategy Officer and Chief Technology Officer. At Motorola, Dr. Nottenburg oversaw all corporate transactions and Motorola Ventures. Previously, Dr. Nottenburg served on the boards of directors of PMC-Sierra Inc., Aeroflex Holding Corp., Anaren, Inc., Comverse Technology, Inc. and Violin Memory, Inc. Dr. Nottenburg received a Ph.D. from École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, an M.S. from Colorado State University and a B.S. from New York University Polytechnic School of Engineering, each degree in the field of electrical engineering.
Mr. Sala has spent his professional career focused on government and communications technology. Previously, he was the President and Chief Executive Officer of Anaren, Inc., a leading global designer and manufacturer of high-frequency RF and microwave microelectronics, components, and subsystems for the space, defense, and telecommunications sectors. Anaren was acquired by TTM Technologies, Inc. in 2018 from Veritas Capital, which acquired Anaren in 2014, when it was a publicly traded company. Mr. Sala joined Anaren in 1984, was appointed President in 1995, Chief Executive Officer in 1997, and chairman of the board of directors in 2001. He holds a B.S. in Computer Engineering, an M.S. in Electrical Engineering, and an M.B.A. from Syracuse University. Currently, Mr. Sala serves on the boards of directors of Carlisle Companies, Inc. and SRC, Inc. (formerly known as Syracuse Research Corporation) and holds a Secret Clearance.
Prior to OceanSound, Mr. Shah was an Associate at TA Associates, where he focused on technology investments primarily in enterprise software companies in North America. Mr. Shah began his career as an investment banking analyst at Deutsche Bank in the Technology Group. He received a B.S. in Management from Boston College and an M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
Prior to OceanSound, Mr. Smither was an investment banking analyst at RBC Capital Markets in the Leveraged Finance Group. He graduated with a B.S. in Civil Engineering and a B.S. in Finance from Lehigh University in the Integrated Business and Engineering Honors Program.
Prior to OceanSound, Mr. Mortimer was an analyst at Credit Suisse in the Financial Sponsors Group. Mr. Mortimer began his professional career as an investment banking analyst at J.P. Morgan. He graduated with a B.S. in Finance and a minor in Economics from Georgetown University.
Chief Financial Officer
Prior to OceanSound, Mr. Bumber was the Vice President of Finance at Stonecourt Capital. Prior to joining Stonecourt Capital in 2017, he was the controller at InterMedia Partners, a media focused private equity firm, after working in the Assurance Advisory Business Services group at Ernst & Young, LLP in the New York Financial Services Office. Mr. Bumber is a Certified Public Accountant and graduated magna cum laude with a B.S. in Accounting and Hispanic Studies from Boston College.
Prior to OceanSound, Ms. Uva held various roles in Communications, Business Operations and Administration at HSBC and TD Ameritrade Institutional. She holds a B.A. in International Hospitality and Tourism Management from Fairleigh Dickinson University in New Jersey.
Prior to OceanSound, Ms. Sucoff was an executive assistant at Centerview Partners. Previously, she was an executive assistant at TCV. Ms. Sucoff graduated cum laude with a B.F.A. in Dance Performance and Choreography from Rutgers University.
